The Property

"La Sechebelle" is a modern family home near the lovely town of Sarlat in the Dordogne. Built in 2006 for the current owners, "La Sechebelle" will be let for the first time to holidaymakers in 2010. The house has been very tastefully decorated and furnished. All furniture and fittings are from Habitat.

The house overlooks the gorgeous Dordogne countryside and has uninterrupted views of Château-de-Montfort, one of the most picturesque and photographed châteaux in the region.

"La Sechebelle" is ideally located for guests wishing to visit the many sites and attractions in the area. The famous medieval market town of Sarlat is just 3kms away, the River Dordogne and valley are under 2kms away (where canoes and kayaks can be hired) and both the "Golf du Domaine de Rochebois" and Vitrac Tennis Club are less than 1km away.

      

The Accommodation

The villa has five bedrooms and an open-plan lounge with an adjacent kitchen and dining area. All rooms have dual air-conditioning and heating units.

Downstairs
Lounge: the lounge is furnished with leather sofas, armchairs and a large bookcase with a choice of books and DVDs. UK satellite TV, a DVD player and an iPOD docking station are also provided. Oak flooring throughout the lounge adds a contemporary feel to the room.
Terrace: from the lounge, sliding patio doors (with electric blinds) lead out to the side terrace, garden and swimming pool.
Kitchen: the kitchen (with dining area) is adjacent to the lounge. The oak kitchen units are beautifully complemented by granite-style worktops and the large floor-to-ceiling cupboards are full of crockery and glasses. The kitchen is equipped with an electric hob with extractor fan, a low-level electric oven, a microwave, a coffee machine and an American fridge-freezer with ice-maker and cold water dispenser.
Dining area: furnished with a light oak table for up to 10 people.
Utility room: equipped with a washing machine and a tumble dryer. There is also access to the double garage from the utility room.
Cloakroom: with hand basin and separate WC.
Bedroom 1: the master bedroom is furnished with a double queen bed and a wardrobe. This bedroom has oak flooring and double French windows, which overlook the pool and terrace. The master bedroom's large en suite shower room has a WC, a double vanity unit and a heated towel rail.
Bedroom 2: this bedroom is furnished with two single beds, side tables and a dressing table. It also has an en suite bathroom with a corner bath, a WC, a vanity unit and a heated towel rail.

Upstairs
Bedroom 3: furnished with two single beds, a bedside table and a four-drawer unit.
Bedroom 4: furnished with a double bed, a wardrobe and a drawer unit.
Bedroom 5: furnished with two single beds.
Shower room: with a shower, a WC, a vanity unit and a heated towel rail.
Upstairs cloakroom: with a WC and a hand basin.

    

The Grounds

Approached along a sweeping drive, "La Sechebelle" is set in landscaped gardens and grounds with views of Château-de-Montfort. At the back of the property there is a large lawn with a separate, private garden and superb plants around the swimming pool. The terrace just outside the villa's kitchen is perfect for outdoor dining and is equipped with a wooden garden table & chairs for 10 people, sunbeds, a gas barbecue, parasols and a table tennis table.

The large heated swimming pool has a Roman end with steps for easy access into the water, particularly for children. The pool also has an alarm system.

  • All prices are per week from Saturday-to-Saturday (4pm to 10am) and are inclusive of water & electricity.
